Our Most Popular Style

Board on Board — the Good Neighbor Fence

Our most popular style is the Board on Board, also known as the Good Neighbor fence. Because the boards overlap, your fence stays private year-round — no visible gaps even when the wood shrinks in summer or expands during rainy weather.

Choosing Your Wood

Con-Common vs. Con-Heart Redwood

Con-Common

A mixture of white and red sap wood, great for staining or painting. Con-Common contains natural knots, like all exterior fence lumber.

Con-Heart

Milled from the heart of the redwood tree for a rich, even red color. Con-Heart also contains natural knots, consistent with exterior-grade wood.

What's the real difference?

The difference between Con-Common and Con-Heart is the color — not the strength. Under current California milling standards, both grades come from new-growth trees, so the structural quality of the two is identical. Homeowners often choose Con-Heart simply for its more consistent, even appearance. Knots in either grade are normal for exterior wood and don't affect the fence's security or stability.

A Modern Transformation

Horizontal Style Fences

Transform your home with a horizontal fence. Alternating board widths, dado-style gaps, and step-down patterns give your yard a clean, contemporary look. Show our estimator a few photos of the look you have in mind and we'll handle the rest.

Curb Appeal

Front Yard Fences

Show our estimators a picture of the front yard fence style you have in mind and they'll provide a quote. Popular options include custom 3-foot tall designs, 1x4 pickets with 1x4 trim supported by 6x6 posts and metal brackets on a concrete wall, and horizontal Con-Heart styles finished with a half-inch gap.

Open, Rustic & Durable

Deer Wire, Hog Panel & Split Rail Fences

These styles are perfect for homeowners who want durability, open visibility, and rustic charm without sacrificing protection. Our team combines craftsmanship and quality materials to deliver fences that look great and last — including deer fencing built with a 2x12 kickboard along the base.

More Styles We Build

Nail-On & Closet Louver Fences

Nail-On Fence

With the Nail-On style, each picket is attached directly to the rails, giving the fence a simple, clean, and traditional look.

Closet Louver Fence

This style features vertical, overlapping slats set at an angle, creating a streamlined look with added depth while maintaining full privacy.

Protecting Your Investment

Staining Services

Congrats on your new fence! Redwood fences naturally shrink, crack, and fade in color over time — this is normal and only affects appearance, not the strength or stability of the structure. Staining adds UV protection, prevents rot, bug, and moisture damage, and reduces cracking, peeling, and warping.

We exclusively use Preserva Wood Stain to ensure long-lasting protection, even color, and a high-quality finish (availability varies by supplier stock). Staining services are available exclusively for fences built by our crew.
